I met Dayz when Arma 3 wasnt even a thing, and didnt played the standalone until this week that I decided to buy it. And man the game has improved a lot since the mod. Not only graphics are amazing, but the gameplay. And you can even fight infected now.
Sure, this will give new players a bit of an edge. But since you guys seem like you have to play Dayz on some mlg competitive level, you've already sucked out what Dayz is. I obviously know the technical differences between a mod and a standalone. The biggest thing for me is the movement. You have more freedom than you realize in standalone, in the mod it is a struggle to move around with precision. The mod feels more robotic, like you have to do one thing at a time.

But even as a MOD, DayZ mod is far more polished than the standalone right now. Status_Access_Violation means your PC is unable to write to ram / page file for some reason. This can be not enough ram, too many other ram hogging processes running or even the first sign of a damaged ram stick. DayZ is a ram hog. You really want 16gig, or to streamline the rest of your stuff so DayZ can have almost all of your 8+gig.
