I picked up my 2020 Denali 2500 hd duramax this week and noticed a loud knocking at idle which increases in volume as the engine warms up. Went back in to the dealer before I even left the lot and saw the service advisor and the diesel tech who both said it was normal. Code u18a2 l5p. Started out of the driveway made it a couple miles down the road and truck shutoff while driving. Coasted into a parking lot and pulled codes truck has code u18a2 loss of comunication with fuel pump driver control module. The truck is a 2018 gmc 2500 l5p. The diameter is too big (cooler changed in 2020) and without relocating the secondary coolant pump, it's too long. 2) the CAT filter adapters sold previously don't work as the oil cooler threads have changed now. 3) the CAT filter has no internal bypass valve. The truck has 73k miles on it, deleted since about 65k miles. In the past few weeks, it developed a notable vibration that will shake the entire cab of the truck between 1200-1800 rpm, regardless of whether driving, sitting still, in park, in neutral. Regen issues, thumping sound from the motor, and a few other smaller things. The fuel pumps don't appear to be an issue on the L5P motors.
