2190 posts · Joined 2007. #9 · May 17, 2007. if you lock the car with the key fob, you must unlock it with it, or else it will go off. the key fob is what engages the alarm. if you press the lock button on the door, it can be unlocked either way. the alarm is not armed this way. www.300cforums.com.
The dealer installed Chrysler remote start system on my 2006 300 S/RT8 (82208859AB) is not working. Dealership tells me it is not covered under warranty (even though car has 33,000 miles on it. When activated there is the usual delay, the electrical system powers up (radio on ect...), and then the horn honks twice and car does not start.and my car would not start had to get it towed to dodge & pay $200 because i fired a computer chip & fuses..so i want to do this installation right..if everything is successful ill post a thread on what i did to help others seeking to install their own. my 300 has the 2 regular remote key not the sentry remote key like the 2011s.The remote start never gave me trouble in the past but recently it has not been nice. If the 3.5 does, then you shouldn't be turning the engine over other than by hand till you're certain. Stand to be corrected if it's not an interference motor.
Shouldn't have to relearn. Check the solder points on the metal clip that hold the battery. It's somewhat common for those to break loose from the circuit board. It can throw a code for that, and that code may not set the CEL. If the PCM detects low battery voltage, the remote start will not work either. Run it by a dealer and let them look at it. It may even have a software update for the issue.
