102 posts · Joined 2006. #1 · Apr 20, 2008. whenever i accelerate, usually when I first drive the truck, there is a "tick" or a "dink" sound coming from under the truck that you can hear with the windows down, and then it will go away after a couple minutes. It only does it in first gear or shifting from first to second.I just bought a Silverado 2500 with the 6.6 gas. While driving at any speed and give a little gas especially small incline etc. I hear a rattling or ticking noise bouncing off whatever I am next to (tress, wall, etc). Only during acceleration. I have had this from the first day and now 1030 miles into it.The GMC Sierra SLE offers more standard features than the GMC Sierra; this truck is the mid-level trim of the Sierra model. The GMC Sierra family contains five Sierra truck models....I have heard other 2014 with the 5.3 ecotech, the truck is new to me and they do not have the same idle ticking. I am bringing it in to the dealership on tuesday to have them look it over. 99% chance they will tell you it's the normal injector tick. Some are louder than others. It took me a while to get used to it.

Just started this morning at a traffic signal. As I was coming to a complete stop, the truck started surging and I thought it was going to stall. I put it in N and the idle came back up to normal.
