Polk psw404.
July 2005 edited July 2005. I have heard positive things about the RTi4's from other polk members so far. However, I was wondering if anyone has gone from the R30's as fronts to the RTi4's. I am considering is an upgrade to the RTi4...maybe RTi6 and just wanted to know the differences between the two (R30 and RTi).. I am 60/40 for music/ht.

The SVS NSD-12 is no slouch though. Nice and compacted and delivers really good bass. The NSD-12 definitely sounds better and stronger compared to the PSW505 and is smaller. PSW 505 is good for the price, sounds nice and deep, but when you start pushing it, its starts to make a chuffing noise.

I like that the psw12 has a 12" driver, the psw404 has a 10" driver. I like the front port on on the psw12, this makes it easier to place than the rear ported psw404. Acording to the specs, both are close on the frequency range (the low end). According to the specs, the psw404 has twice the amp power of the psw12. The Polk sub provides that missing link in my stereo/surround system. The bass is clean and well defined. I can definitely FEEL the bass but more importantly I can distinguish the individual bass notes and differentiate the bass from the drummer's kick drum.
