Cable box constantly gets stuck on welcome boot screen. Our cable box keeps restarting on its own and then gets stuck on the black “welcome screen.”. This has been happening multiple times a day for the last couple months. Our internet service has also been going out daily for the last few months. Please help. My new Sony TV has a power setting that can use "screen saver" or "last input" as a choice on TV turn on. Changed to "last input" and now tv works ok. This has been happening for the past 5 or 6 days. I always turn my TV on and off using the TV remote (Samsung Series 6).
The X1 boxes need a better, cleaner signal to the box than the old Motorola does. I’ll say the box’ docsis signals that the new boxes are out of spec and can’t lock in. Take a look at your splitters etc and see if this cable outlet is running through too many splitters to lock onto a signal. 0.

A few days ago my X1 box would randomly restart and get stuck on the welcome screen. A reboot would eventually bring back the tv. It eventually stopped working all together. I just received a replacement box and it’s doing the same thing. I get past the welcome screen but then I can’t bring up the menu or even pair the remote.
Before going to bed I tested it and it was working. Next day it wasn’t working again, stuck on the reboot “Welcome” screen (restarting the box didn’t help).
