If is does not than it most likely is the Glow Plug / Intake Air Heater Relay, as it should not be needed above 50deg. Jim. The second brown thing back it is either a glow plug relay or the intake air heater relay. It is smoking and hot to the touch (on the brass post and overall). I wouldn't call myself a complete DIY'er. I do about 70% of the fixes myself, and about 20% w shops, and only if I have no other choice, do a ever go to a dealer. So, I had my computer crash about 6 weeks ago. The PCM or ECM and a fuel pump was 3500 at the dealer.Pulled the power lead from the heater and reset power loop with ~12V showing for the circuit to the heater without heater in the loop. So, it seems the heater itself is toasted out. Next i will attempt to test the heater, any suggestion other than be careful if it works it will get hot.
