I believe the stock spring was 8 lbs. Although I haven't had a single malfunction with it, I did notice the slide hesitating when feeding flat-nosed and HP ammo. The 9lb spring took care of that, but I may film the XC again using the stock spring to see how it affects muzzle dip.It comes down to what you want to do, The XC is a nice range toy, you cant really compete with it in a comp though, it put you in the open class and you are up against true open guns. For a carry piece, I think first and foremost, it needs to be reliable and accurate. After that, you need to like it and shoot it well. If you don't like it or shoot it well, it's worth considering a change. As far as recoil, work on strengthening your wrists and grip. Both the chunk port/genghis comp and the ports are fun to shoot. Just depends on what you're looking for. The monsoon port will feel softer to the shooter where the stacc-ports are more a progressive feel which tracks faster when compare to my Omni (which feels similar to the chunk port).
