Depends on lots of different factors. Plus if you just do a few shoeboxes instead of one mono, then you'll get about the same yield. What do I need to make a monotub? A fruiting Boomr Bin. Spore syringe or liquid culture syringe. Injection port bag or fully-colonized grain spawn. Clear plastic bin (like those made by Sterilite) or a ready-made monotub. It has 6 holes total; that's two holes on each long side just above top of substrate and a hole at each end as close to the top as possible. While colonizing, all holes are covered with tape. This locks in moisture and allows CO2 to build up.

I have 2 29 gallon monotubs and only 7 quarts of spawn. I will be using 1 of those quarts for grain to grain transfers; so this leaves me with 6 quarts of spawn.
