Jul 18, 2017. #1. hey, so, thought I would try the baler, all going well, then, error, rear door latch. Went round and they haven't latched. Bale is formed. My problems are, 1) tail won't lift up, any ideas, 2)pto when engaged makes the clutch now click. 2) need to wrap it before trying to get it out.

Despite all that, I would still consider another NH BR baler. I recognize that NH makes a good baler and their dealer support is very good, but I have spent thousands and quite a few good hours of time fixing unexpected problems on mine in the first 4 years of ownership. I copied/pasted 1 solution that might address your balers problem. Another possible cause is the net is not being cut cleanly leaving a long tail which the hay or rolls can catch and start wrapping. You need two things to get a good cut on the net. Brake tension on the net and sharp knives.

Depending on the baler model the tension system relief vavle determines how much pressure is built in the system. 2400 is the maximum pressure for a 648.
