Taurus serial number lookup not working.
Dec 16, 2009 · But what I'm trying to figure out is when its made. The Taurus online serial number search came up blank. I called Taurus Customer Service, and they didn't have the SN on record. My guess is its 1980's vintage, but that's a guess. Its a 5 digit SN, both on the frame and the inside of the cylinder. It does say Miami Florida on the frame.
Today, I bought a beautiful new .38 special ultra lite with a 2.5" barrel for $249 and looked up the serial number on Taurus's website fine and received the model number 2-850039UL and it was made in 2011 but the model does not exist on Taurus's website or at least I can not find it anywhere...I see you might know something about the Model 80. I have a Taurus 38 special left to me by my Grandfather. It has W 185 on the crane of the gun and W 80 on the frame. The serial number is 1338018 Made In Brazil. It has a 4" barrel. I go back to work again Thursday. I'm pretty sure I checked the Botton of the barrel, but will verify. Just checked my new 856 3" Defender and found the caliber stamping on the bottom of the barrel.
