Answer 1 of 3: This will be my first time in BA and will be at the Ibis Buenos Aires Obelisco Hotel for 2 nights. Would like any suggestions for : (a) how best to use our time around the area and how far they are from the hotel.

The area around Vincente Lopez park is lovely, the street Montevideo, Alvear, Quintana, Pacheco de Melo, Rodriquez Pena, Posadas, Libertad and anytime those streets cross. I started following this forum about 8 months before we travelled so I want to share our experience.I saw on an old post (2017) that there is often a surcharge of 15% to use a credit card ( or a 15% reduction for cash) All in all, we would prefer to use credit cards rather than trying to withdraw from ATMs and try to anticipate how much to take out for expenses. However, 15 % is a lot of difference!Colonia is a great choice, marvelous boat trip there (if you chose a boar trip anyway). much sightseeing to do there and some buying as well. One may say three days is enough for Buenos Aires if you're doing the basics but if you want some day trips like tigre, a ranch, or colonia as you said, you may want to extend your stay. AEP is a mostly domestic airport, very much in the city.- close to Palermo and Recoleta neighborhoods. Stay there or Monserrat or San Telmo.

Facing the Starbucks head to the right where there is an open area where they store the luggage carts. Behind all the carts is a HSBC ATM station with 4 ATMs inside.
