I used showracemenu to change my name, but after I did that my stats were screwed up and my skin tone and other color features went to default (although my actual physical features like hair type or jaw width, etc etc remained unchanged.)

One point in the wrong skill tree doesn't really matter in long run. To answer the question: You can reset skill trees once you've maxed them out and there's a reset option once you finish the dragonborn dlc. Honestly though, use conjuration. Summons are a great asset for melee battle. You could load an earlier save.
