Rossi 92 rear sight replacement.

My '95-ish Rossi 95 revolver's rear sight blade wiggles left/right enough for a 4-6" spread at 10-15 yards. I don't know these assemblies, but I am guessing there may be a spring in the rear sight around the windage screw that is too compressed and isn't holding tension on the blade- allowing it to wiggle.My first choice is the 3/32 or 1/16 front brass bead and the Ghost ring rear sight. Second choice would be the fiber optic front and rear sights the contrast might work the best. Just back from the range, shooting my Rossi 92 with new open fiber optic sights from Stevesgunz.The old Rossi 92s have a barrel band with a pinned front sight. You can replace it with a blade of a different height, but it's a lot less versatile than a dovetail front sight. On the other hand, the older 92s don't have the cheesy safety. The best rear sight looks like the XS sight that straddles the bolt, on top of the reciever.Peep rear sight: Have a gunsmith drill and tap the receiver for something like a Williams or Lyman receiver sight. Or have a tang sight installed and replace the existing rear sight with one that folds down out of the way. I agree with you on the bolt mounted peep from Steve's Gunz. Neat in theory but not great in practice. BTDT.
