I personally do range only because it's easier to sustain longer grinds. First time farming zulrah on any of my accounts. I have 98 magic and 92 ranged. I'm consistently getting kills between 2:00-2:30 using trident with ahrims and crystal bow with crystal armor. Bowfa is ~150m. 6x Crystal Armour Seeds are ~9m ea so 54m. Best shard/gp is enhanced crystal teleport seed, each gives 150 so you need 2 for armour and 14 for corrupted Bowfa. Some other quick tips for new Snake Slayers: Take the best gear you possibly can. It costs nothing to get it back. Always use Ranging potions and Magic potions before you start the fight. The DPS increase is very noticeable. Always make sure your ring of recoil has 30+ charges. This is a MUST when learning Zulrah.

If it's worth it to you then I say go for it. Bowfa are crazy easy compared to rcb its fun just to go there to fuck sara up lol. 100% yes. It's soooooo easy and fun to farm zily with bowfa. You can get extra shards, acb's, and of course the sgs for BIS spec for slayer and inferno. Extra drops are bond money.

The FBow while on slayer task is the same DPS as full crystal armor off task. The bowfa is pretty bad without the armor. I would never use it without the armor except for shamans if no BP or want to save scales/darts. Nowhere, you need the armour set for it to be good. I just tried 8 trips to test out Mage+Range, vs just using the bowfa ( 4 trips each ). Keep in mind that this is with 96 range, 99 mage, no cox prayers, and I also only used monkfish and karambwans. The Bowfa shreds muspah, kills are so consistent!! I had a 10 kill trip after getting it which was insane as my max before was 4, even with supply drops. I’ve run one toa which felt good. More consistent without relying on ruby bolt procs. Especially P3 enraged wardens. I’ve done some zulrah while also feels really good.

Thralls, I do Bowfa only Zulrah with Serpentine Helm and thralls summon for maximum laziness while on mobile. Thralls don't really speed up my kills in a way that I can feel, but they do really make my kills more consistent since I'm not using a mage switch. The little bit of extra damage smooths out the rng of doing ranged only.
