Gmc acadia shakes when accelerating.

May 30, 2013 · Shake around 65 mph, and a shudder when accelerating at highway speeds, and especially when downshifting to climb a hill. We've had balances, rotations, alignments, and a new steering gear. No luck. The shuddering/rumbling sensation can easily be confused with running over a rough spot on the road, so it isn't severe. The rumbling sensation is often accompanied by a metallic scraping/vibration sound from beneath the car (not from engine area). Experiencing a constant vibration at approximately 1600-1700 RPM in any gear at steady speed. Dealer service tech has been able to duplicate the problem on my 2017 Denali as well as other new Acadias in the dealer's inventory. The vibration seems to be engine related. Our technicians tell us this condition is commonly caused by a failed automatic transmission torque converter. It is recommend to replace the torque converter and install an updated powertrain control module (PCM) to correct this concern.If it only happens when going up a hill around 30 mph that is a symptom of a worn CV axle. I'd expect around a $400-$500 repair at a shop. Other things that would be performance related could be transmission or ignition coil but both of those would usually turn on check engine light.
