Ruger security 9 slide stuck.

The Ruger Security-9 Compact has the same “Secure-Action” hammer-fired system that the full-size Ruger’s Security-9 pistol and their successful LCP II use. The trigger is crisp, short, and soft and the gun uses an internal, shrouded hammer, rather than a striker-fired bar, which helps make slide racking easier.It’s pretty obvious why the feed ramp needs to be a smooth, polished surface. The nose of the bullet must slide over and through this concave surface to enter the chamber. If the surface is too rough or is nicked or burred, the bullet can get stuck. However, it’s less apparent why the bolt face needs to be smooth.Security 9 Magazine Issues. I purchased the Security 9 a month or two ago. The firearm itself has worked great for me, no issues with any ammo I have tried (Sellier & Bellot, Blazer Brass, Winchester White Box, American Eagle, hand loads). However, the magazines have been giving me quite a bit of trouble.After 15 or so Max 9s with the same issue I concluded this is some well known Ruger shyt. It’s an issue with the LC models but was fixed in later models. Seems the rattling slide ghost has come back with a vengeance to haunt us all. It’s been almost 6 months and my OCD still won’t let me get use to it. 😡. 2.

It seems I'm having this issue every time I strip the gun. It seems like the recoil spring pops out of the spot it sits on the barrel when I push the slide back to put the takedown pin back in. Because I lock the slide back, then release the slide and move it forward to remove the slide again, and it's already stuck.

Now, upon reassembly, the slide will not go all the way back because the hammer is down. I did not try to push the hammer back in fear of damaging anything. Has anyone experienced the same issue ...
