FWIW -- You don't mention whether you've changed anything associated with the engine. If you have, then it's a good idea to disconnect the battery negative, wait a minute or so, and then reconnect to force the ECU to relearn the engine behavior. Any changes (intake, etc) result in a relearn situation.

The xB should tow fine.
