This was my first new vehicle and I really only considered new because used prices were so high and basically the same as new (I got mine at MSRP). Then get the floor jack and wood blocks under the tank. Remove the two bolts and slowly lower the tank enough to get access to the 3 lines ( 2 are fuel and 1 is the vent ) and the 2 electrical connectors.
