Tivo remote not working with new batteries.

Feb 10, 2008 · Yesterday, my Tivo (series 2) unit suddenly started 'ignoring' the remote. I changed the batteries in the remote, but still had the problem. The Tivo remote controls all the other components (TV and stereo) fine, so I know it is sending out a signal. Took it apart and hit it with compressed air, lots of dust, back together and it still showed the multiple inputs problem like many signals from the remote.
