Still, it only took me about half an hour to do the entire planet (gateway, dig to core then awaken). It took about 7 hours to get everything I needed (research excluded) and awaken the planets. It looks like purple shattered balls with interior kind of like a geode. Use terrain tool on it and then smelt for zinc. Check the Astropedia in the tab when you pause. You have all the info about resources and what planets they're on and where. It's all over the place in the upper cave layers on Sylva.

Good Mineral Research Samples, and great Exo Dynamics pods. Atrox is really only good for gasses (the only planet with Helium, which is needed for some end-game items). Novus is... kind of underwhelming when compared to Glacio in most cases (and specifically Vesania for Lithium).
a GATEWAY engine is a giant purple "thing" at the center of the planet/moon. it can be used along side gateway chambers (large purple hexagonal buildings on the surface) as a kinda fast travel network,letting you go from one side of the planet to the other in seconds (or from the surface to the core makeing it easyer to get to the lower ores)

It seems like the fastest way to do this would/could be to equip the pets for oxygen, digging and damage reduction, feed them, grab the materials necessary to activate the gateway machine and just dig straight down.
