There is only ONE fairly certain way of loading larger shot, (7-1/2), in a 410 MEC machine that works with any consistency. 1) Polish the inside of the drop tube. (You have already done this). 2) Make sure your shot is well graphite'd. Add graphite to the shot if necessary, before attempting to load it.Bumping up your payload with the same powder charge might be asking for trouble. I have thousands of once-fired old-style AA .410 hulls and some of them refuse to accept even a Winchester primer easily. The progressive MEC 650 is an entirely different press than the single-stage 600 Jr. and I see no way one could successfully do any shimming in the primer cup of a 600 Jr.
