There is nothing worse or better about the recoil of this gun compared to other similarly sized 9mm sub-compacts which is why it gets a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It's the same size and shoots 10 times better. You can get it for under $400. Honestly as a first I'd really recommend going to a range with rentals and trying several to get an idea of what feels best for you. Dagger isn't a bad option but there's other options you might like better.

Over the course of time the tabs on shield gen 3 will erode the mag interior IMO! Dirt and debris gets in opening as well. Additionally I have tried to Champer the leading edge as with Glock and PSA. This helps allow the edge of the shell slide over edge of mag as well. Just my opinion ( based on my experience with the aforementioned on my 43x.
