As far as the back wall I don't think there is much difference there. The real difference is that there is no drastic drop into the valley on the MR series like on the originals. Speed wise I haven't seen one be faster than the other.

That allows for a longer working section on a limb of the same length. As short as limbs are now, the small difference might be significant.
